In the shared hosting environment, security is a very complex issue; therefore we prefer to eliminate any unjustified risk.

HostX offers the possibility to use shell functions only if there is a justification. For example, a request to enable shell functions to run an exec ("ps aux") is not considered a sufficient justification; instead, enabling shell functions to run one of the ImageMagick executables is considered a valid reason.

Activating one or more shell functions will only allow you to run the executable for which it was activated.

The HostX decision may differ from case to case. For more information please contact our Technical Department.
