RSS (Realy Simple Syndication) is a family of web feed formats for content delivery.

The advantage of using RSS is the possibility to automate the updating of content.

If you want to enable RSS in your PHPBB forum you need to install SmartFeed mode (http://phpbbservices.com/smartfeed). This change (mode) gives you an interface through which you can manage feeds.
